SHISEIDO – Japanese Roots, Modern Brand Space
Japanese aesthetics, premium materials and precision shopfitting: With the new backwall installation for the luxury brand Shiseido at Müller Freiburg, we had the opportunity to bring a very special retail project to life. This marks the first implementation of the brand’s new design concept in Germany.
The concept combines Shiseido’s Japanese heritage with a modern, luxurious approach to product presentation. Finely textured surfaces inspired by traditional tatami mats, a deliberately restrained use of colour and form, and the brand’s iconic red accents create an environment that feels both calm and striking.
The quality of the concept is particularly evident in the details. Integrated lighting lines add architectural depth to the backwall and highlight the individual product areas. Centrally positioned display elements with softly rounded, organic shapes echo Shiseido’s 110-year-old camellia logo. Their distinctive red accents create a striking contrast with the light, understated material palette. Generous communication areas and clearly structured product displays complete the brand presentation.
Our role as shopfitters: turning design into reality. With great attention to detail, we translated the concept’s combination of materials, surfaces, lighting and functional requirements into a precisely crafted shopfitting solution.
The result is a presentation space that brings together Japanese-inspired aesthetics and contemporary retail design while consistently expressing Shiseido’s brand DNA. A great example of how high-quality shopfitting can make brand values not only visible, but truly tangible within a space.
