Energy Efficiency and Resource Conservation.
Commitment that matters.
Sustainability is more than just a trend for us. We focus on environmentally friendly products, resource-conserving processes and continuous improvement to actively make a positive impact on the environment. Through targeted measures such as the use of recycled materials, the reduction of our energy consumption, and the installation of a new heating system with hydraulic balancing, a chip filter system and a compressed air compressor with heat recovery for process heat, we are making a sustainable contribution – not only for today, but also for the future.

By using environmentally friendly, durable products and resource-conserving processes, we actively contribute to a more sustainable future. We are increasingly relying on recycled materials and are continuously increasing their proportion. We already use only recycled paper and implement strict waste separation in our production – including special containers for cardboard, foils, metal and other recyclables.
Investments in energy efficiency – reducing electricity consumption.
Since 2021, we have comprehensively modernized our heating system and switched from oil to more environmentally friendly gas. A buffer storage tank and radiant ceiling panels with a low flow temperature ensure additional energy savings. Furthermore, we use wood shavings and residues from our own production to heat our production halls. An efficient ceramic filter reduces emissions to just 2 mg/ton – well below the legal limit.
Our compressed air system has also been optimized: A new compressor with heat recovery provides process heat for our machines. Thanks to these and other measures – such as hydraulic balancing of the systems, new power lines, energy-efficient machinery and modern LED lighting – we have been able to reduce our energy consumption by 42% per year and significantly lower our peak loads. Through these measures, as well as further planned initiatives in the field of renewable energies, we are actively assuming environmental responsibility – for our environment, for our upcoming generations and for the future of our trade.

We support people with disabilities.
Social responsibility doesn’t end at our factory gates – it’s an integral part of our corporate culture. One of our special commitments is the partnership with the Josefsheim, a workshop for people with disabilities in Olsberg, which until recently operated in our own company halls.
Today, the employees of the Josefsheim work in their own facilities, but our connection remains strong: we regularly provide the workshop with orders, promoting active participation in working life for people with disabilities. This long-term partnership stands for trust, mutual respect, our clear commitment to the region and to a way of collaboration beyond economic interests.
Giving Smiles.
For children and their future.
The well-being of children is especially important to us. That’s why we specifically support organizations that are deeply committed to helping disadvantaged or sick children. Our annual Christmas donations go to organizations including the Balthasar Children’s and Youth Hospice in Olpe, Kinderglück Dortmund e.V., AEB Dortmund and the Dortmund Child Protection Center.
With our support, we want to help ensure that children and their families find help, support and hope in difficult circumstances. Because true responsibility is demonstrated through action – especially where help is most urgently needed.
Creating Opportunities.
Fostering young talents.
As a craft business, we embrace social responsibility – today and for future generations. That’s why we provide apprenticeships and give young people the chance to discover their talent and passion for shopfitting, property furnishing and museum construction.
In addition to traditional apprenticeships, we also offer young people aged 15 and up the opportunity for paid holidays work to gain practical experience in our production. Alternatively, anyone interested in an apprenticeship can gain initial insights through a summer holidays internship to help them decide on the right training path.
This way, we support early career orientation and pave the way to a successful future – ideally, of course, at Körling Interiors.
Tradition and Connection.
Our annual retirees’ reunion.
At Körling Interiors, our appreciation for our employees doesn’t end with retirement. Every year on the second Tuesday in September, we warmly invite our former colleagues to Olsberg to share memories, discover new developments and experience the evolution of our company.
During a tour of our production facilities, we showcase what has changed – but also what has remained constant: our passion for craftsmanship and our connection to the people who have shaped Körling Interiors over many years. Afterwards, we traditionally head to the Bigger Hof, where the conversation continues over good food and a convivial atmosphere.
With this gathering, we demonstrate our long-term social responsibility towards our former employees and cultivate a sense of community across generations – because appreciation and fellowship are not a matter of current affiliation, but rather an integral part of our culture.
We care about the Forest.
Tree-Planting Initiative in Altena.
As a craft-based company for which wood is one of the most important materials, we bear a special responsibility toward nature. That’s why, in 2021, volunteers from Körling Interiors took action in Altena to plant new trees for a greener future.
You know why? The forest region near Lüdenscheid was severely affected by bark beetle infestation—many trees had died and had to be removed. With our planting initiative, we actively contributed to reforestation and the preservation of the forest, which not only shapes our home but also forms the foundation of our craft.
We are proud of our team’s commitment – and of taking active responsibility for our environment!
