Buchenwald Memorial

On the 71st anniversary of the liberation, the new permanent exhibition at the Buchenwald Memorial was opened on April 17, 2016.

Based on the design by Holzer Kobler Architekturen, we designed and installed the display cases with anti-reflective glass and the elaborate spatial structures for the exhibition. Following conservation guidelines, highly sophisticated furniture with complex forms was constructed. The strict deadline of the anniversary also made the project very demanding in terms of time.

Körling Interiors was responsible for implementing the concept on the site and, in close cooperation with the planners and architects, manufactured and installed the interior fittings. We like to quote Mathias Haak from the SHA construction management team: “The intricate details made the project very complex. The result is a complete success!” That’s exactly how it was; it was a pleasure for us to have been involved in the construction!
