“Madonna” at the State Museum of Hanover

Mother goddess, virgin, saint, and pop icon – hardly any woman has moved humanity as profoundly as the Madonna. Artworks spanning over 11,000 years trace the evolution of what is arguably the most famous female figure in history. From mother goddess to pop icon Madonna, it was a long journey, during which the Virgin Mary experienced a unique triumph. The State Museum of Hanover is the first museum worldwide to dedicate its special exhibition, “Madonna: Woman – Mother – Cult Figure,” to the changing image of the Madonna throughout the centuries.

For the exhibition, Körling Interiors provided the space-defining wall structures, partially climate-controlled wall-mounted display cases, pedestals with climate-controlled display cases, display case lighting, and painting.
